In addition to the first part about the myth of sugar, here are some other myths which are: Any type of sugar, 1 gram of sugar always contains 4 calories. However, sugar is often already undergone the process of adding (added sugar) so that the number of calories is not ‘just’ 4 again. The problem is, added sugar consist in many forms of food or beverages so that automatically increase the number of calories of the food or beverages. For example soft drinks that containing sugar (sugary soft drinks) and fruit-flavored beverages (fruit-flavored beverages). Both identified by U.S. Department of Agriculture as the largest source of added sugar.

Carbohydrates in the form of glucose are required to ensure the body’s organ to function properly and not stagnant. For this purpose, it is needed approximately 140 grams of glucose. When someone consumes foods that contain carbohydrates, like sugar or starch, your body instantly turn it into glucose, a simple carbohydrate which is then absorbed in the bloodstream and used as energy, once been absorbed, the body can not distinguish the source of this sugar.
