Amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic that is consumed by many Indonesian people. This drug is very cheap and easily available in the pharmacies and stores that sell drugs, but many people buy this drug without a prescription from a doctor. Besides that lack of understanding about Amoxicillin drug itself.

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that is classified into the penicillin group. This drug does not kill bacteria directly but by preventing the bacteria formed a layer around its body. This layer for bacteria has a vital function to protect the bacteria from environmental changes and to keep its body does from disintegrate. The bacteria will not survive without this layer.

Amoxicillin is effective for some bacteria such as H. influenzae, N. gonorrhea, E. coli, Pneumococci, Streptococci, and some strains of staphylococci. According to work mechanism above then Amoxicillin indeed should be used to treat the diseases that are caused by bacteria that are sensitive to Amoxicillin.

Definition of overweight or obese varies is depend on how we look but generally, obesity is excess body fat which is experienced chronically by a person. At normal condition, the body fat serves as energy reserve, regulating body temperature, as a protection from trauma and other functions.

Ideally, women’s body consists of 25 – 30% fat, while on men 18 – 23%. When the body fat exceeds more than 30% on women and 25% on men then that person could be categorized as fat or obese. The easy way to calculate the obesity is to compare the height (m) with weight (kg) or known as the Body Mass Index (BMI). Apart from cosmetic problem, obesity is a serious health issue.

In America, there are 300,000 deaths per year that caused by obesity factor. Obesity can lead to serious chronic diseases such as: Insulin Resistance. Insulin allows the body to deliver the glucose as a fuel for energy formation into the cells. By moving the glucose into the cells then the insulin would keep the levels of blood sugar to normal level.

Diabetes Mellitus comes from the Greek word “diabainein” which means transparent or shower and in the Latin is “mellitus“, meaning sweet, that is why diabetes mellitus known as diabetes. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease which level of sugar inside someone’s blood becomes high because sugar inside the blood can’t be used by the body properly.

Increase of blood sugar can be caused by:

* The insulin hormones are reduced
* Sensitivity decreases of insulin hormones
* Stress
