This matter can still be increased because the risk of hypertension will increase along with the age.

Information from the Framigham Heart Study which had been doing in a long term shows that lifetime risk from the development of hypertension approximately 90% on 1298 participants that aged between 55 and 65 years, which initially don’t have hypertension. Along with the knowledge development about this disease there are many cases can be found and the control of blood pressure even more necessary. One thing that we can do is therapy.

Before starting the therapy, complete information should be collected from the patients. This information can be like family or medical history such as symptoms of disease that damage organs (especially coronary heart disease), renal parenchymal status or other diseases that cause secondary hypertension although there are only 5% of this case. History can also be like exercise habit, food (especially salt), alcohol, and the use of drugs such as steroid, or NSAIDs (NonSteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs).

About the drug therapy, first, you needed to know about that drug contraindicated or detailed history of the patient to disclose the potential effects of anti hypertension specifically on a certain patient. After analyzing the risk factors, consider for giving, stopping or changing the drugs that are routinely which can affect on blood pressure and patients that usually smoking are recommended to quit.

Decrease of sodium and alcohol intake should also be encouraged. Better provide written advice and information and inspection or monitoring should be focused on cardiovascular function as prevention from having complications.
