Know About Sinusitis
Sinusitis is an inflammation that occurs in the sinus cavity. Sinusitis is commonly found on people with hay fever, which occurs on people who have chronic cold because of allergies due to dust and pollen. Sinusitis can also be caused by irritant materials such as chemical substances that are found in nasal sprays and other chemical substances that get into the nose. Do not forget that sinusitis can also be caused by viral or bacterial infection.
This writing is now focused on discussion about sinusitis that is caused by infection. Sinus or sometimes called paranasalis sinus is an air cavity that is placed on the solid part of the skull around the face, which serves to mitigate the skull. This cavity has a total of four pairs on the left and right. The frontalis sinus is located on the forehead, while the maxillaries sinus is located behind the cheek.
Meanwhile, sphenoid sinus and ethmoid sinus are located somewhere deeper on the back of the eye cavity and behind the maxillaries sinus. Sinus wall mainly formed by cells that produced mucous liquid. The air gets into the sinus through a small hole that connects the sinus cavity with the nasal cavity which is called Ostia. If due to something this hole is clogged then the air couldn’t get in and out and mucous liquid that is produced in the sinus can not be expel.
