The disease is also known as urinary diseasee many young and old suffering caused by high levels of sugar in the blood known as hyperglycemia. Lack of insulin in the body resulting in human suffering from this disease.

According to experts, there are three types of diabetes are classified according to its nature; disease insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, DM disease that is not dependent on insulin (for people with thin or fat), and patients are associated with nutritional deficiencies. In addition, there are also associated with DM disease symptoms in certain organs such as the pancreas, it hormonal, chemical substances, abnormalities in insulin, and can also be caused by genetics.

In general, diabetes mellitus is caused by a malfunction occurs in part or in large amounts in pancreas organ that should produce insulin substances, and thus called a lack of insulin. Moreover, it can also occur due to dysfunction at the time of entry of glucose into human cells caused by obesity or overweight.

Type of DM caused by a lack of insulin is called type 1 diabetes, while type 2 diabetes from or referred to as diabetes mellitus due to insulin malfunction. Insulin itself is a hormone produced in the pancreas, which shaped gland at the rear of the hull. Insulin has a function to regulate glucose in the body to turn into energy and store the rest in the liver and muscle.

But be aware that the problem of obesity not only affects one’s appearance. As said above the problem of obesity is usually accompanied by other health problems such as diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease and hypertension, cancer, kidney disease, and liver disease that can cause death.

Overweight or obesity due to consumption of foods that exceed the needs of Nutrient Adequacy Score per day. If this excess occurs in the long term, and not balanced with enough activity to burn off excess energy, excess energy eventually will be converted into fat and deposited in fat cells under the skin. As a result the person will become obese. In the beginning was marked by an increase in weight body, when hoarding more and more, anatomical changes occur.

In woman’s fat tissue accumulation, usually located around the hips, thighs, arms, hips and abdomen. New spread throughout the body to forward. While in males, accumulation of fat tissue usually occurs at the stomach. Clinical problem nutrition is a problem closely related to nutrition disease and treatment requires comprehensive action.

So hypertension, which is one risk factor for disease cardiovascular, must be prevented and treated by changing eating patterns into pattern healthy eating is based on a variety of foods that meet nutritional balanced. Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure rises above normal limits. Limit of normal blood pressure varies according to age.

Various factors can lead to hypertension, although the majority (90%) causes hypertension is unknown (essential hypertension). Causes increase in blood pressure is a rapid heart rate, increased resistance (resistance) of peripheral blood vessels and increasing blood flow volume.

Definition of overweight or obese varies is depend on how we look but generally, obesity is excess body fat which is experienced chronically by a person. At normal condition, the body fat serves as energy reserve, regulating body temperature, as a protection from trauma and other functions.

Ideally, women’s body consists of 25 – 30% fat, while on men 18 – 23%. When the body fat exceeds more than 30% on women and 25% on men then that person could be categorized as fat or obese. The easy way to calculate the obesity is to compare the height (m) with weight (kg) or known as the Body Mass Index (BMI). Apart from cosmetic problem, obesity is a serious health issue.

In America, there are 300,000 deaths per year that caused by obesity factor. Obesity can lead to serious chronic diseases such as: Insulin Resistance. Insulin allows the body to deliver the glucose as a fuel for energy formation into the cells. By moving the glucose into the cells then the insulin would keep the levels of blood sugar to normal level.

On obese people, there is a high-fat accumulation in their body, while fat is very resistant to the insulin. Thus, to deliver the glucose into fat cells and to keep the blood sugar levels remained normal, the pancreas will produces the insulin in large amounts.

Eventually, the pancreas can no longer produce insulin in large amounts so that the blood sugar levels gradually rise and then there is going to happen what is called type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Increase of blood sugar can be caused by:

* The insulin hormones are reduced
* Sensitivity decreases of insulin hormones
* Stress

Stress can aggravate the health conditions of diabetic, therefore it is expected that stress management is performed during the time of healing and treatment. These things are presented by Reza Gunawan in the workshop of “Stress Management in diabetes“
