Had a heart attack April 2009. Tried biking, health club, walking. Swimming is the most amazing exercise to build endurance. I’m 67. My kids bought me a Timex Ironman heart rate monitor to wear swimming. Now I swim by my heart rate range and have grown from swimming 30 minutes with HR in the 90’s, to a full hour to 90 minutes at 115 to 120! I can tolerate everything much better without any angina…biking, pulling weeds, going up stairs. I would like to find other lap swimmers who are building their endurance this way. Is anyone doing research about this?
