There are many ways that can be done to prevent diabetes, ranging from changing your diet, exercise until taking medication. But the latest analysis form the researchers said that, just drink coffee or tea can reduce diabetes. The researchers analyzed the results of 18 studies that were involving hundreds to thousands of participants.

The study in 2005 was mention that a person who often drank coffee, might get diabetes one third lower than those who rarely drank coffee. Conclusions from the results of the analysis is that every cup of coffee that taken by someone can reduce the risk of diabetes up to 7 percent.

drink coffee or teaFrom these six studies, it is known that taking 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day may reduce the risk of diabetes up to 36 percent. Meanwhile, seven other studies show that drinking tea as much as 3 to 4 cups a day may also reduce diabetes up to 18 percent. The researchers assumed that not only caffeine that helps in reducing the risk of diabetes. Other Ingredients in these two types of beverages such as magnesium, lignans (a substance like estrogen in plants) and chlorogenic acid which are form as antioxidants that can slow the release of sugar into the blood after consuming the food. Clinical trials need to be done to ensure these two types of beverages can indeed be as preventive medicine for diabetes.

If it is proven, the medical advisors maybe give suggestion to diabetic for not only exercise and eat less, but also taking lots of coffee or tea. But remember, drinking tea or coffee is better with a little bit sugar, not like most of Indonesian people, which used to give too much sugar.
