Self EsteemSelf esteem is said to be an essential attribute in one’s life in order to be fulfilled and happy on both a personal and professional level. Self esteem is a term used to measure the amount of respect that a person holds for themselves. Low self esteem can cause various negative lifestyle issues. Believing that you do not deserve to be successful or loved and that bad things happen to you for a reason are some of the classic personality traits. Each one of us is directly responsible for our feelings and sense of worth. Taking action and seeking help can only improve confidence levels and ultimately our own happiness.

People with low self esteem generally struggle through life with constant fear of being outed by their peers. Success is rarely accomplished in studies and later on in to their professional careers. Turning to drink and drugs is also common amongst those that suffer. Irrational thoughts and actions which lead to other complications are also commonplace. Confidence is something that develops throughout a persons life.

Unfortunate events early on in life can cause low levels of self esteem from a young age, as can events that take place later on. Mental illness is also a common development, feelings of anxiousness and depression can take place which can be very detrimental to those who suffer. There is a vast array of literature available to help those with esteem problems, building confidence is something that takes time but also brings with it great rewards.
